CRRA operates four transfer stations as part of the Connecticut Solid Waste System and one recycling transfer station for its Southwest Division recycling system. At a transfer station, participating towns and approved private haulers deliver trash and recyclables, which are aggregated and loaded onto transfer trailers and trucked to CRRA’s Hartford trash-to-energy plant and recycling processing center.
